Progress Reports

Third week progress reports will be given in each six week period, on a Wednesday and should be signed by the parent and returned to the Homeroom teacher.

There will be a five-dollar charge for lost report cards. In order for the parents to know first hand their child's progress there will be at least one conference period each semester in addition to the written reports.

Please cooperate in every way when your child's teacher tries to establish an appointment for your conference.

Honor Roll

In keeping with the educational philosophy of Broward Christian School, in which there is utmost concern for development in the areas of academic, physical, emotional and spiritual growth, all subjects in the curriculum are included in determining honors recognition. An overall average of 91 (B+) must be obtained in order to receive honors recognition. Those students achieving an average of 95 (A) receive high honors recognition.

A student receiving a "D" in citizenship or a '3' in effort in any subject is not eligible for honors recognition regardless of scholastic average. A student receiving an 'F' in any academic subject is not eligible for honors recognition regardless of scholastic average.

Parent-Teacher Conferences

One of the strengths in the total education of a student is the close cooperation between the school and the home. Both students and parents should feel free to meet with a teacher or teachers at any time. Conferences may be necessary from time to time. When parents desire direct communication with a teacher, telephone the school office (954) 723-1520 and leave a message for the teacher. He or she will return your call. Regularly scheduled days are set aside in each grading period for parent-teacher conferences. However, at other times when requested by the parents, teachers will be glad to schedule conferences.

Necessary conferences may also be requested by the guidance personnel. Full cooperation on the part of parents and students is expected.

Spanish

From the age of four, our students are taught Spanish using songs, rhymes, reading, writing and vocabulary, using also, books and visual material that teach them of the different Spanish speaking cultures of other countries.

Elementary Grades

The elementary grades are the foundation years for learning and appreciation of life. Habits of dress, learning skills, attitudes and study are learned and formed.
