1.
Policy
While discipline is basically
positive training in the right direction (Proverbs 22:6). There is the
negative side of correction and adherence to rules. Several general areas
of infraction should be noted.
a. Disrespect or insolence to either teachers or fellow students. General
disturbances, such as talking, scuffing, running and minor infractions
of rules.
b. Not completing work and improper dress code.
c. Unexcused absence or tardiness.
The parents and teachers must cooperate
fully with one another. Anything said or done which tears down respect
or confidence will harm the child. When there is a misunderstanding, the
parent should take it quickly to the teacher. Often a conference or even
a note can clear up the difficulty. Should the problem remain, feel free
to consult the principal.
2. Demerit System
The demerit system, as a guide for discipline,
works in this manner:
1. 5 demerits - Letter goes home.
2. 10 demerits - He/She will go to the principal for a conference and
a letter is sent home - 1 day suspension
3. 20 demerits - 2 day suspension
4. 30 demerits - Student's discipline reviewed by the faculty, and 3
day suspension
5. 40 demerits - Automatic probation and suspension for one or more
weeks with unexcused absences.
3. Standards of
Conduct for Students
Any Christian institution must provide
an environment conductive to the spiritual growth and development of its
young people. We believe that Christian students should avoid practices
which cause the loss of sensitivity to the spiritual needs of the world
and loss of the Christian's physical, mental or spiritual growth has lead
us to adopt the following standards for students in attendance or while
they are at home:
1. Refrain from all gang activity, swearing, smoking, use of indecent
language, gambling and use of intoxicating beverages or drugs.
2. Maintain high standards of courtesy, kindness, morality and honesty.
3. Be dressed appropriately and modestly in school uniform.
